There are several varieties of beryl each of which is named based on its color. These varieties include:
-Golden Beryl: Golden yellow.
-Emerald: Green to dark green.
-Heliodor: Yellow, yellow-green, and brown.
-Red Beryl: Deep red (this specimen is only found in Utah in the US).
-Aquamarine: Light blue to dark blue and blue-green.
-Morganite: Pink to light purple.
-Goshenite: Colorless to white.
-Bixbite: Strawberry red.
-Green Beryl: Pale green.
-Peach Beryl: Orange-pink.

Beryl can be found in several different locations including Columbia, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, and California in the United States. It is a stone that is said to have been used in the breastplate of the high priest.
