Healing with Crystals: Bustamite

Bustamite is known as a "new age" stone that is very valuable to those who use crystals for energy work because of its powerful metaphysical and healing properties. It was first discovered in New Jersey but not brought to the notice of those working with crystals until specimens from South Africa became more readily available. Other localities include England (Cornwall) and Sweden (Langban).

It crystallizes in massive form, tabular crystals with rounded edges, and in a fibrous form of fine, parallel threads that are cloth-like and flexible. Its color ranges from pink to raspberry to brownish-red. Some specimens will occasionally contain black manganese. Recently bustamite specimens coming from Brazil have been found to contain the mineral rhodonite.

Metaphysical Properties of Bustamite

-Effective in removing blockages in energy pathways, in realigning energy channels, and stimulating good health.

-Useful in clearing and activating the fourth (heart) and sixth (third-eye) chakras.

-Helpful in giving one a feeling of relaxation during times that are chaotic and stressful.

Healing Properties of Bustamite

-A very powerful healing stone that is used in energy work as an elixir or placed upon one's body during the "laying on of stones."

-Used to treat disorders related to deficiencies of calcium in the body.

-Aids the circulatory system by providing a more efficient flow of blood throughout the body.

-Useful in treating disorders involving the heart; also strengthens the heart muscle.

-Improves the functioning of the pancreas and the liver by providing a sense of equilibrium.

-Effective in treating the source and the symptoms associated with migraine headaches.

-Helpful in strengthening the structure of the muscular system.

-Used to treat dermatological disorders and diseases of the skin; also helpful in smoothing the skin.

-Helps alleviate general aches and pains in the body.
