The health benefits of golf vacations are also the same health benefits of walking. When you are walking your body is getting mild exercise. Mild exercise is the best for older people who might already have problems with their joints and bones. Walking provides you with some amount of calories burned and allows for your blood to get pumping while you are out there on the course. Even though it may seem like a leisurely jaunt through the greens, by skipping the golf cart you will walk an extra 8 miles that day. That is quite a bit of calories to burn while you are enjoying yourself. Not only that but regular walking has been shown to have preventive qualities against cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
The other great health benefit of a golf vacation is the amount of stress relief that golfing can provide. The key to having your vacation remove as much stress as possible is to focus on activities that you enjoy. Most of the time when people go on vacation they devote their time to doing as much of nothing as they can, sometimes someone will go on a trip and get drunk and eat horrible but this will lead to greater stress than if you were to just stay at work. The fact is that the more time you spend doing nothing the more time you spend thinking about what you should be doing. This causes your body to produce cortisol in response to these thoughts. However, when you can focus your attention on an activity that you actually enjoy you r thoughts are more preoccupied with thoughts of the activity then with thoughts of what you are missing back at home.Stress is a huge killer in today's western society. The fact is that the person who gets out on to the green for their vacation instead of spending it drinking on a beach will live a healthier, longer life.
