Republican Scare Tactics

Sarah Palin, a lightning rod for the extreme right is still insisting on spreading the fear she introduced with her notion of the supposed "Death Panels" that she claimed as part of the Democrats Health Care reform. Her incendiary rhetoric, meant to panic an uninformed populous, has been seen in a Yahoo report, a Huffington Post report, and elsewhere screaming her divisive message all over. You would have thought that, by now, enough truth had come out to throw water on the flames Sarah Palin and her extreme followers try to spread but apparently many so called "Conservative Extremists" are still trying to do anything and everything to block President Obama's attempt to give America heath care reform.

This morning I was watching CNN when the "Death Panel" idiocy was mentioned yet again. It is time that America stopped foaming at the mouth about a fabricated, nonexistent excuse to block health care reform and start doing what is necessary for the country as a whole. Nobody wants to euthanize Grandma or handicapped children.

The "Death Panel" hogwash has been debunked en masse according to mediamatters.org. If that is not enough information for you, there are more reputable sources that will tell you the same thing like factcheck.org.

End of Life Counseling is a good idea and it gives terminal patients a way to not only decide the best way to handle their affairs but it also has psychological and financial benefits for the family. According to this Harvard study done by a reputable Psychologist (above link), the benefits far outweigh any manufactured rhetoric of those who make a fortune due to the status quo.

The GOP also has a major problem with the "Public Option" that Obama would like to have in our health care reform. There is absolutely nothing in the "Affordable Heath Care For America Act" that would mandate the "Public Option" for anyone...that is why it is called the "Public Option". It is a viable option that would have a well merited affect by stopping an insurance company from lining their pockets at the expense of their customers. Corporate greed is the root of manufactured claims because the corporate money machine would not be able to gouge the American public if we had a "Public Option".

The U.S. has, unfortunately, catered to the advancement and welfare of the elite for too long at the expense of the majority. If, indeed, our Congress and Senate are to take heir oath of office seriously for a change, they would work together to find solutions. The Republicans in the Senate and Congress have made it very clear that they are not interested in the well being of this country as much as they are determined to oppose everything that President Obama tries to accomplish.

The latest numbers from the Congressional Budget Office actually show that we could decrease the Federal Deficit quite a bit more than first thought. Here is the revised estimate of net budgetary impact for H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act which show that we can reduce the Federal Budget Deficit by billions more than previously calculated...approximately $29 billion more (around 138 billion in ten years).

Instead of believing anything that is spread for simple political maneuvering, we all need to start investigating the facts for ourselves. READ what is printed. Fight for the truth. The status quo of our current healthcare is out of control and many Americans are but one hospital stay away from bankruptcy.

True democracy does not exist. The U.S. Constitution guarentees all American citizens certain rights that we all assume will prevail against all else but realistically do not. With the Supreme Courts ruling...  View profile
