Health Related Dangers of Mold

Mold can grow at an unbelievable rate and it is also very risky for your health. Depending on the amount of mold you are exposed to, you could end up with very serious health issues. It is important to know what mold can do to your body and to your family's health. Certain people are more susceptible to the health related risks of being exposed to mold. For instance, children, babies and senior citizens are more likely to be adversely affected by breathing in mold particles.

Danger of Health Related to Mold

Asthma- If you have asthma and you are exposed to mold particles, it will likely cause you to have an asthma attack. This can be a very serious problem if you are exposed to mold on a daily basis. There is some question as to whether being exposed to mold over an extended period of time could possibly even cause asthma.

Allergies- People with allergies are more likely to feel the affects of the allergic reactions if they are exposed to mold. Allergies can be very annoying all by themselves. When you add mold to the mix, it will be an even more miserable experience. If you are in an environment that has mold on a daily basis, you are at a higher risk for allergy attacks occurring more often.

Respiratory- If you have any type of respiratory problems at all, you at a high risk of health issues if you are exposed to mold. Breathing problems can be caused by many different things. Mold makes respiratory problems even worse. It can cause your esophagus to close up making it impossible to breathe. If you live in a home where the is mold or you work in an area that may have mold, you are putting yourself at high risk for respiratory problems.

AIDS/HIV Patients- AIDS/HIV patients are at an extremely high risk of danger due to mold problems. It could even possibly cause the death of these patients. It is imperative that any patients with AIDS/HIV be kept away from mold exposure. Mold causes elevated risks respiratory problems and AID/HIV is one of the most major respiratory illnesses there is. It is important to avoid exposing yourself to any moldy conditions if you are HIV positive or have AIDS.

Colds and Flu- If you are exposed to mold on a regular basis, you are more likely to get colds and/or the flu than those who aren't exposed to mold. When you get the flu or a cold and are exposed to mold, you will likely have a much harder time recovering from it than those who aren't exposed to mold.

Death- There are certain types of mold that can cause death if signs and symptoms aren't caught immediately. Mold exposure is bad enough but when you are dealing with a deadly mold, it can literally snuff out your life. If you suspect that there is mold in your workplace or in your home, it is urgent that you find ways to get rid of it or remove yourself from the area that has the mold.

Mold is a serious issue. It not only causes damage to your home, it can cause very serious health related issues that need to be addressed immediately. The health risks of mold are too severe to ignore. If you feel that you have been exposed to mold and you have been having breathing difficulty, headaches and other symptoms such as this, you should probably seek a doctor's guidance. You should also do everything in your power to remove yourself and your family from the area where the mold exposure is. It could be a matter of life and death.
