Health Tips: the Link Between Nerve Function and Chiropractic Care

As we all know the nervous system controls practically every single cell, organ, tissue and system of the body. But what happens when that gets interrupted and how does it get that way? Well, hopefully this article will help shed a little light on the subject.

Everything in the body is pretty much controlled by the spine. The nerves are connected by the spine and then are connected to everything inside the body. If your back is not in alignment properly it squeezes the nerves and can not - or - will not allow proper blood flow. This can make for several internal problems that may or may not be life threatening. In the least it will make for pain that you do not need to go through. Just to give you a better idea of all the spine controls let's look at each segment and what nerves are directly affected by it.

We'll start with the cranial nerves; these are affected by the tip of the spine at the head. The nerve functions for this area are as follows: blood supply to your head, brain and face, eyes, ears, sinuses, mouth, vocal cords, tonsils, neck shoulders and colon.

Moving down to the cervical vertebrae include what is referred to as the "cervical" and "brachial" plexus. The nerve functions for this part of the spine are: (cervical plexus) base of the skull, your scalp, neck muscles and the diaphragm- (brachial plexus) neck, shoulders, elbows, arms to the tips of your fingers, esophagus, heart and coronary arteries, respiratory areas and the chest.

Thoracic is the next set of vertebrae. The nerve functions here include: Head, respiratory, heart, chest and breast, gall bladder, liver, diaphragm, stomach, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, small intestines, uterus, colon and the appendix.

The lumbar is the lower back and probably the most common in back pain. The organs affected by this nerve function include: Large intestines, reproductive organs, and upper legs.

Finally, the sacral portion of the back affects the following: The reproductive organs, bladder, prostate, the lower legs all the way to the toes, and the rectum.

So, you see, Chiropractic care is very important to make sure that your body and nerve function is operating at peak performance. Without this vital attention you can suffer from massive health issues and extreme pain. The link between Chiropractic care and nerve function is clear, don't make a serious mistake by neglecting essential treatment and maintenance.
