Health Valley Organic Garden Herb Multi-Grain Crackers Review

It's official...our entire household is stuck on Health Valley Organic Garden Herb Multi-Grain Crackers-particularly since our toddler regularly specifically asks for them. She's always specifically asked for crackers in the past, such as Late July Organic Cheddar Cheese Bite Size Crackers; but probably because everyone else likes them so much, she likes them even more. We're on our fourth or fifth box in as many weeks and trips to the grocery store. The only drawback, since they're priced better than other organic crackers, is how they're eaten so quickly.

Health Valley Organic Garden Herb Multi-Grain Crackers ( Amount, Servings & Weight )

As was noted, we really enjoy the taste of these crackers but they're eaten too quickly. That's partly because the box is only six ounces; and six ounces of Health Valley Organic Garden Herb Multi-Grain Crackers is only a few handfuls.

Health Valley says on the box a serving size is four crackers. Who eats four crackers! Maybe in a polite atmosphere, say, during hors d'oeuvres or appetizers at a dinner party, but hardly does anyone only eat four crackers. Health Valley needs to be more realistic in dishing out what's a serving of crackers and Hain Celestial Group, Inc ( parent company ) should green light, if necessary, larger boxes of crackers. There may be about 44 crackers in each box, but that certainly doesn't equal " 11 servings per container."

Health Valley Organic Cracker ( Varieties )

We've tried four of the six Health Valley Organic Crackers offerings. The more common offerings, Health Valley Organic Whole Wheat Crackers and Health Valley Stoned Wheat Crackers, are the two we haven't tried. From most favorite to least favorite, the others we have tried are, again, Health Valley Garden Herb Organic Crackers, Health Valley Organic Sesame Crackers, Health Valley Organic Bruschetta Vegetable Crackers and Health Valley Organic Cracked Pepper Crackers.

Health Valley Organic Garden Herb Multi-Grain Crackers ( Ingredients )

The "Garden" ingredients in Health Valley Garden Herb Multi-Grain Crackers are organic garlic, organic onions, organic carrots and organic tomatoes. The "Herbs" in these particular crackers are organic parsley, organic basil, organic celery seed, organic thyme and organic oregano.

Come to think of it, it's probably the celery seed that has me enjoying these crackers so much. Lately, I've been trying to include as much of it as possible in recipes. But I wouldn't have even known it's in there had I not just included it in this review.

What I really appreciate about these particular crackers, and is certainly a reason for choosing to purchase them, in the first place, is the fact that the oils in them are expeller pressed. That means solvents, of which some used in the food industry are harmful to your health, weren't used to extract the oils from their sources. The oils used in Health Valley Organic Garden Herb Multi-Grain Crackers are sunflower, safflower, soybean and canola ( rapeseed ).

Health Valley Organic Garden Herb Multi-Grain Crackers ( Price, Price Comparison and Conclusion )

Another deciding factor for continuously purchasing these particular organic crackers is its price: $2.99 for a six ounce box. Late July Organic Cheddar Cheese Crackers are $2.99 for a five ounce box. Every other box of organic crackers I've compared are a bit higher priced, so that I don't even consider them.

Health Valley Organic Crackers are $.49 cents per ounce; Late July Organic Cheddar Cheese Crackers are $.59 cents an ounce.

There's no doubt about it, crackers, even crackers that aren't organic, are a fairly expensive grocery item. ( See price comparisons in Late July Cracker review article, here. ) Even crackers that aren't organic, such as Ritz and Cheez-It, are five and six dollars a pound. If you're already willing to pay that much for crackers, you may as well go the extra step and get the better-for-you organic ones. And Health Valley Organic Garden Herb Multi-Grain Crackers are certainly good-tasting ones, which are the least expensive organic crackers too!
