This healthcare bill has never been about true reform. It has been about power and control. The greatest accomplishment of the healthcare bill was to awaken the sleeping giant -- American People. Until this healthcare bill, there has never been a more galvanizing issue other than perhaps world war. The healthcare bill has now created the platform for the mid-term elections. A concerted effort to repeal the healthcare bill.
What we are witnessing is the total transformation of America. From a market based capitalistic society to socialism. This is a defining point in America. State legislatures are already posturing to challenge the constitutionality of the healthcare bill. Virginia, Utah, South Carolina and Florida are ready to make the case that mandatory coverage as required in the healthcare bill is unconstitutional.
Massachusetts was the adjunct pilot program for the healthcare bill. The Massachusetts state government has had to rely on years of federal subsidizing to keep the program afloat. The colossal failure of this experiment was a fundamental reason why Scott Brown won the Senate seat. Ironically, that seat was held by the father of healthcare reform, Ted Kennedy, now deceased. Who will subsidize the United States government; our enemies?
The burden on our society in a time of deep recession was ill-advised. It will go down in history as one of the greatest political blunders. There will be a plethora of case studies based on this healthcare bill. The extreme narcissism of our President was regrettably on display with the healthcare bill. In a period where job creation, fighting our wars and reducing the national debt are clearly the priorities of the American People, our leader led us into bankruptcy -- financial and moral.
The healthcare bill, even with all the fuzzy math and gimmicks will add another trillion dollar debt burden to future generations. Some economists predict the healthcare bill will cause the US to loose the Moody AAA rating which will trigger higher interest rates, inflation and a financial calamity.
Just as egregious is the lack of statesmanship displayed by our elected officials. We have become a morally bankrupt nation as evidenced by the capitulation of principals during back room deals. Our elected officials have taken a mantra of We the Government, Damn the People.
