Healthier Halloween Snacks for Trick or Treaters

Six Healthier Treat Ideas

V. L. Hamlin
Isn't Halloween synonymous with cavity? There are thousands of kids out on that one night doing nothing but searching for the next piece of candy. Knowing that the candy will rot their teeth and can cause a myriad of health problems, children everywhere gorge themselves with the sweet treats, not even once taking into consideration that it will make them sick!

Why not counteract the rest of the world giving out candy and figure out some healthier fun treats that kids will love and their parents will love giving them! Of course, in today's world, you need to buy only individually wrapped food. There is no point in trying to make up your own baggies of treats, because parent's are just going to throw them away when they get home anyway! So, try to think of things you can buy that are healthy and individually wrapped. Below I've listed six great snacks, that kids love and are healthier for them!

#1 Raisins - Natures Sweet treat! Sun maid makes these in tiny individual boxes that are just perfect for little hands!

#2 Animal Crackers - In just about any store you can find these in individual packages for about fifty cents a piece or buy a box of them individually wrapped for around four dollars...still less than you would pay for one bag of candy!

#3 Granola Bars - You can buy a box of ten of these anywhere for around a dollar or two and they are so healthy for kids!

#4 Fruit Cups - The little mini dishes you put in your child's lunch for school are perfect for trick or treaters!

# 5 Fruit Snacks - They make them full of sugar of course, but you can find them that are also made with real fruit juice, and yes, they do have sugar in them, but it's a much better choice than a three musketeers bar!

#6 Pretzels - While these are not the healthiest snack in the world, they are far better than a mini bag of potato chips and you can usually purchase mini bags of these decorated for Halloween.

See how easy it is to help provide your neighbor hood kids with healthier tricks or treats! Not only will you feel better about what you are handing out, but their parents will thank you as well! Halloween can still be a lot of fun without the cavities and the expensive dental bills afterwards! Just think about healthy snacks that are already individually wrapped.
