Healthy Back to School Breakfast Ideas

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Honestly I would have to agree with this statement, because I remember when I was in school how I felt on the days I ate breakfast versus the ones I didn't. It is important to get your kids going with some healthy food because it will really help them learn more and pay attention. On the days I didn't eat breakfast I cannot describe how tired I was and how hard it was for me to concentrate in class. This always seem to occur right around 10 a.m. and I could never perform as good as I did on the days I ate breakfast.

I know that it can be hard getting the kids ready and getting them off to class, but with a few simple changes in your routine everyone can be full and out the door in no time flat. All it takes to serve your children healthy breakfasts is a little planning before hand.

One breakfast I would highly recommend is oatmeal. Go with the instant packages and you will have a hot healthy breakfast in a matter of minutes. Oatmeal is very affordable and is a food that can be doctored up in a variety of different ways so you are not always eating the same thing. You can add chopped fruit, nuts, or a little brown sugar to liven up the flavor. You can even by the different flavored packages as well. My old stand by is to go to Sam's Club and buy the maple brown sugar in bulk for less than $10. You get around 40 packets of oatmeal that can be consumed as is or made to order.

Another great and healthy breakfast is eggs and toast. Eggs have protein and other vital nutrients plus they don't take long to cook. They are another food that can be made up to the individual's preferences. You can add vegetables, cheese, meats, and more. Toss in a piece of toast and jam and you have another hot healthy meal that your kids will love.

The final healthy breakfast idea you can run with is a fruit dish. Just buy a bunch of different fruits and cut them up. Toss them in a bowl the night before and in the morning your kids can dish out what they want. What is better than starting your day with a bowl of healthy, delicious fruits?

There are many different ways to do healthy breakfasts for back to school time. All it takes is a little proper planning on the parent's part and mornings will run smoothly and the kids will have a full belly.
