I first discovered Healthy Choice Premium Fudge Bars when I was on the Weight Watchers Diet Plan following food points values. These delicious desert bars were priced a little higher than the average fudge bar, but with a 1pt point value, they were a no-brainer and a guilt free pleasure!
I found that I like these fudge bars better than the average fudge bar. They have no sugar added but don't have that artificial sweetener taste, or the aftertaste that aspartame leaves behind.
These bars are also thicker and lighter than the average fudge bar, and soft without that sticky syrupy stuff that typical fudge bars leave behind on the paper.
Healthy Choice Premium Fudge Bars taste very similar to a Wendy's original chocolate Frosty. In fact if removed from the stick and stirred up in a cup, I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference! I really like that they are not overly sweet tasting and they are soft enough from the freezer that you can bite through without the coldness hurting your teeth the way some frozen products do. There is no need to wait on these bars to soften at room temperature!
Another thing about these bars that some may find odd, is that I really like the shape of the stick. It's not long and symmetrical like a regular Popsicle stick. Rather, the stick is wider at both ends. It is a shorter stick than the regular one, but its figure-8 shape is more comfortable to hold in my hand, as well as on my tongue. The wider end is more comfortable to hold between, the thumb and forefinger. (Hey, little things count big!)
Nutritional Value of the Healthy Choice Premium Fudge Bar
It is so great when you can eat something you really enjoy and not feel guilty about it. These chocolatety fudge bars have 1.5g fat, 80 calories, and 65mg sodium per serving, while the typical calorie sweetened fudge bar has 110 calories. There's no trans fat, 5mg of cholesterol, 65mg sodium, 200mg potassium, 13g carbohydrates, 4g dietary fiber, and 3g protein. Vitamins A, C, and Calcium are also in this delicious treat. The calcium content is 10%, making this a good source. 1 carbohydrate is the dietary exchange per serving of 1 fudge bar.
For the lactose intolerant, which I sometimes can be bothered with, the primary ingredient in these bars dairy. However, I personally have never been bothered by Healthy Choice's Premium Fudge Bars.
