If you're going to be driving or taking a bus to Disney World, you're going to be tempted to go inside the fast food places and eat the fatty foods there. Instead of giving in (though it's okay to splurge a little bit), choose the healthiest foods available, like grilled chicken, salads, and diet soda. If you have to indulge a bit, try not to do it more than once a week as that can be really bad for your health.
Airplanes often have food that's poor for your health, so if you're traveling to Disney World by air here's what you can do: ask about your food options when you book your flight. Ask if a vegetarian dish is available, because they are sometimes more nutritious (though, as always, it depends on what's being served). You might also just want to eat a larger meal before your flight so that you won't have to eat the full airplane meal to feel satisfied.
Remember that you can always take your own food when traveling to Disney World. You can avoid high fat and cholesterol meals (and higher prices) with whole wheat or pita bread, low fat cheese, and lean lunchmeat in a cooler. Call ahead and ask if your hotel room comes with a small refrigerator.
Finally, when you eat out at a restaurant make healthier choices. Get dressing on the side of your salads or ask about low carb options. Many times you'll be able to look at the menu and choose something healthy, as many restaurants will print this on the menu for the more health-conscious person. Order lunch menu sizes or split a big meal in half to take in a doggie bag for later to control portion sizes.
Eating healthy, at Disney World (or any other vacation spot) or at home, can be challenging, but your health and life longevity is worth it. With healthy dieting and better eating, your body will be more equipped to fight off illnesses while traveling, and you'll be more alert to enjoy your trip.
