Liver is one of those meats that many individuals find disgusting for some reason. Liver is a meat that is a high source of iron and is healthy for your body. Now, if you don't like liver for some reason, give it a try on the barbeque, or even fry it in low fat oil and you can add some onions if you would like. If the taste distracts you, add a bit of your favourite barbeque sauce. Not only can it taste great, but it gives you the high source or iron you need.
Beef or Cow Brains is the next on the list, in which more people dislike this menu of food compared to liver. However, if you give it a try, you will get a great source of Vitamin B, Vitamin B12, and Iron. It is also known that cow brains have zero carbs and are also an excellent source of protein.
Oily Fish/ Fish Oil/ Cod Liver Oil is third on the list. However, it's still shocking at the amount of people that don't like fish. Nevertheless, whoever eats fish knows they are a gaining a great source of omega-3 fatty acids and certain Vitamins. Even though some will feel disgusted about that fishy taste afterwards, remember the benefits and nutrients in the meal and knowing it also lowers the risk of heart disease. These fish range from Tuna, Sardines, Herrings, mackerel and some others. Cod Liver oil is also available at your local nutrient and vitamin store.
Wheatgrass, yes, in case you haven't heard of this, it is a youth grass that comes from sprouts of certain wheat plants. It is in the form of a smoothie or drink and also available in the form of some health bars. The drink is the most popular and is thick and green and does have an acquired taste. If you can get past the taste and bitterness along with the smell of the wheatgrass, then your body is given the amino acids, vitamins (A, B, C, E) and minerals it needs from the wheatgrass drink. It's also is excellent for your teeth, body and prevents the risk of certain cancers and furthermore, neutralizes toxins within your body.
So from Liver to cow brains to wheatgrass drinks, these are just a small range of disgusting foods as some may think, yet are highly healthy for you. So next time you go to the grocery store, think twice before you pick something up.
