Healthy Halloween School Party Snack Ideas

It's the Halloween season and that means countless parties will be taking place at homes and schools everywhere. Which leaves us parents struggling to find those perfect treats to make for school parties, treats and snacks that are healthy but also fun.
There are many already prepared snacks that would make a healthy treat for your Childs school Halloween party. Foods like cheese and crackers, sugar free candy or gum, fruit roll ups, banana chips, granola bars, fresh fruit and even cut up celery and carrot sticks with ranch dressing are all very healthy alternatives to the traditional cookies and cakes that are commonly chosen for Halloween parties.

If you want to get a little more creative while still sticking to the healthy concept, just remember that anything colored orange and black is a perfect accent to the holiday décor and stays within the Halloween theme.
Some common foods and ideas to try would be black bean dip with orange pepper slices, sweet potato chips or black tortilla chips with orange homemade pumpkin dip.
My mom has a recipe that she has prepared every year since my sisters and I were kids. It's called monster fingers, they are interestingly, creepy 'fingers' made of string cheese and toasted almonds. This recipe is sure to be a hit at your Childs party and it's also healthy for them as well. To prepare this simple and easy recipe you'll need one pack of mozzarella string cheese, a few teaspoons of cream cheese, one pack of almonds and several black plastic bugs and spiders that are available at any local dollar store very cheap.
1. Toast the slivered almonds in a preheated oven at 325 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
2. Cut each piece of cheese into 2 pieces to make 2 'fingers'.
3. Carve out small wedges of cheese to make the 'knuckles' and a small area where the 'fingernails' will go.
4. Place a small amount of cream cheese into the indentations you created for the fingernails. Then place your toasted almond fingernails into place. This makes a very interesting and delicious party snack food for kids. What child doesn't love string cheese?

Other healthy, delicious snack ideas for your Childs Halloween party would be monster eye balls. Which are just 1 inch carrot stubs with a ½ teaspoon of cream cheese and half of a pitted black olive in the center.
Pumpkin tea sandwiches are also very delicious and easy to make. Just spread 3 slices of low fat pumpkin bread with 2 tbsp of whipped cream cheese. Top with 3 more slices of pumpkin bread and then cut into 4 bite sized sandwiches.
Chocolate peanut butter tea sandwiches are my daughters favorite Halloween snack. You use the same recipe as above, only instead of the cream cheese you use dark chocolate peanut butter. Pumpkin, chocolate chip cookies are also delicious, healthy and can be bought in the grocery store or homemade. Bagels, cream cheese and sliced apples are also an excellently, healthy Halloween party snack for your child that all the children are guaranteed to love. To make the pumpkin cream cheese you'll need 8 ounces of cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, ½ cup canned pumpkin and ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. Combine all these together to create delicious pumpkin cream cheese which is absolutely delicious, I always make enough to have some for breakfast on toast the next morning. It's not hard to find interesting, fun and healthy Halloween party snacks for your child.
