When you eat something you will want to have high fiber in it. That means that you should have 5 grams or more per serving size of fiber. Fiber is so good for your body. It provides you with essential nutrients that your body needs every day. Fiber also prevents constipation, prevents digestive problems, lowers cholesterol and sugar levels, helps to prevent colorectal cancer, and helps a person loss weight.
The best snacks for you to have high fiber are fruits and vegetables. Certain fruits and vegetables have more fiber in them more than others. Apples, raisins, pears, and berries are good choices to have that are high in fiber. Some vegetables that you might want to have that are healthy snacks high in fiber are carrots and peas. Try carrots sticks with some hummus dip to really have a healthy high fiber snack.
Next think of the color brown when thinking about some healthy snacks that are high in fiber. Brown rice is a great choice to have. Use whole wheat bread instead of another kind of bread to have more high fiber in your diet. Whole grain breakfast cereal is a great healthy snack.
Fiber is wonderful when you can get it in as natural state as possible. Nuts provide a lot of fiber. There are some great trail mixes out there that are high in fiber. Popcorn is a great healthy snack for fiber. Just watch what toppings you put on. Butter and salt will make it unhealthy. Try to stick to just plain popcorn for a true healthy snack. Enjoy eating your healthy snacks with high fiber.
