Curbing Your Cravings with Creative Snacks

A few ideas and tips for healthy snacks that I myself enjoy and hope that you will also:

Homemade pickle pieces:
ingredients: Cucumber, salt, pepper(if u want i enjoy it), vinegar

First skin the cucumber and cut it into sections. take those sections and and cut them into triangles or whatever smaller shape you like. It isn't necessary to cut anymore after you cut out sections but it makes eating more enjoyable and perfect smaller sizes for little kids. after you cut the cucumber to your eating preference, place the pieces into a bowl and fill the bowl with vinegar. Not alot, but just enough to barely reach the top layer of cucumbers. Add your preferred amount of salt and pepper(or other condiments) and stir it in. Please note that this can be very healthy but not if you over abuse the salt. How much is too much? im sure you already know that question but just a light sprinkling over the top layer of the cucumber is enough. cover this and give it time to absorb the vinergar and salt. estimated refigerated time: about an hour or two. And WaLaH! you have pickled your very own cucumber. depending on how you made it, it tastes just like(but in my opinion better) than store bought pickles and can be used as a healthy snack or an addition to dinner.

Hawaiian style chicken!
ingredients: chicken breasts, storebought marinade(hawaiian if u want it hawaiian style but any marinade will work) water, optional: seasoning salt.

First of course, clean the chicken breasts you are deciding to cook and store the rest if any remains. Place the chicken in a bowl of marinade and let sit. Best thing is that you dont really need to let them sit for a very long time! thirty minutes to an hour is plenty for great flavor. Place the marinaded pieces into the skillet and add enough water to cover the bottom of the skillet and let them cook on a low fire for best quality but for those in a rush, increase the flame and keep a constant watch(for those not using a low flame). after about 15 minutes (depending on your flame level) flip them and add more water only if the skillet has run out. After another ten or so minutes the meat will have a nice glaze on it from the marinade and will have soaked up most if not all of the water. The end result? you have basically boiled chicken with some real flavor to it! Boiled chicken is much better than fried chicken health wise and this chicken is packing some flavor! If you cut open one breast and it seems that it is a little dry for your taste just let them simmer in some more water in the pot. they will absorb more water and then you will have yourself some pretty juicy chicken!

Fitness tips from experience:
I am a full time student and without much shame can say im not all too outdoor active. But that isn't necessarily bad you can still maintain a healthy weight and figure even if you are the type to stay indoors. For starters, try to lay off the soda a little. From experience i can say its hard to lay off soda but it was the first step i took towards a healthy life style and i experienced that i did indeed lose weight as a result. This is not to say you cant have a soda just keep it to one a day or 3-4 a week... Substitute with water or 100% juice. The water flavor packets are a substitute but not a very good one. It is just slightly healthier than a soda... There are alot of people who crave something late at night to eat. Make it something small. Get a cup of tea to curb your craves. a PB&J sandwich is good. Gum is godly for weightloss. If you feel that annoying nag to eat something at night just pop a piece of your favorite flavored gum into your mouth and chew on that. It will hold you until you are ready to go to sleep and it is also tasty. Overall, avoid eating alot during your leisure times of the day. especially when you are about to go to sleep. If you are planning on being very busy that day, such as you have to go to a dance practice or band practice go ahead and eat what you want. If u don't over eat when you do, you will end up working off that during practice. Keep yourself busy. The more you have to do, the less time you have to put something into your mouth!! If your getting hungry and there is a project you need to complete... DO IT. You will put off eating and burn even more calories.. THEN you can enjoy something nice to eat to compensate for the work you just did on an empty stomach. Junk food, you dont have to cut it completely but if you can limit yourself to it maybe once or twice a week it will do you a world of good! not only will the junk food probably taste better (like Cheetos flaming hots when you haven't had them in a long time.... so good...) GET A WII. lol this tip is for those gamers who spend tons of time inside playing games. Most games for the wii that involve body movement don't register in your mind as exercise and becuase of that you can do them for hours on end and unconsciously be giving your body a real workout!(wii fit... wow what a workout)

It will amaze you how small changes like this will have a great impact on your body. If you threw in true intended exercise this will be a very effective way for you to lose weight. Exercise like maybe 20 sit-ups at night may be all you need!
