Healthy Tips for Travel: Don't Forget These Easy-to-Pack Essentials!

Making your travel packing list and checking it twice? Don't forget to pack what you need to stay healthy through exercise!

What to Pack for Easy, Quick Fitness Breaks

Walking shoes: They don't have to be designer shoes, but they do need to be comfortable for walking! Whether you prefer aerobic cross-trainers or just a pair of sneakers, include walking shoes in your luggage. That way, you can use "down time" in the airport, railroad station, or on roadside breaks to go for a quick walk. Keep your metabolism high, burn fat, and increase your energy with a simple walk.

Sunglasses: Don't make the mistake of thinking that because it's winter, you don't need to protect your eyes! Sun glinting off snow, for example, can be blinding, and those rays continue to present possible dangers unless you wear a good pair of sunglasses. Recommended brand: Avia, because they come in a variety of styles to suit your face shape, and are well-made.

Socks or hose: Another essential that is easily overlooked, well-fitting socks or nylons are important for all that walking. Many of us experience tired, achy legs when we walk and/or travel. Recommended solution: Futuro Energizing Knee Highs, Trouser Socks, or Pantyhose.

Pedometer: Get an inexpensive pedometer to track the number of steps you walk each day. You can motivate yourself to do more each day and celebrate your success!
