BREAKFAST
Breakfast has often been called the most important meal of the day. Try these ideas to start off your day.
Add some crumbled turkey bacon, diced portabello mushrooms, and a bit of swiss cheese. Make sure to cook the bacon crisp to reduce the fat and add some great texture.
For a sweet start to your day, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla, a dash of cinnamon or apple pie spice, and some diced apples or pears.
LUNCH
An omelet can make for a quick and easy last minute lunch.
To your basic omelet add some peas, shredded carrots, diced chicken and a bit of oregano for a fast and easy lunch.
Another idea you could try is adding some lean ground pork (browned and drained), shoestring potatoes, and some Cajun seasoning for a simple, spicy lunch to keep you going through the day.
DINNER
Your entire dinner could be in one omelet.
Try this. Mix in a 1/4 cup of mashed potato flakes, some broccoli florets, shredded lean beef and some diced onions.
For a great baked omelet, add a tablespoon of flour, onions, garlic, red, green, and yellow peppers and some Italian seasoning.
SNACK
For a great snack, try an omelet.
Add some of your favorite salsa and a bit of shredded cheese.
Omelets come in many different varieties and many different forms. The only limit is your creativity. Add in anything. Its a great way to get rid of come leftovers and have an easy healthy meal.
