If you can relate to this dilemma I can help. I have felt this way many times throughout my day. The more I read the more I feel as if everything is unhealthy to eat. But actually I'm here to tell you that that is not really true. A raw oats dish with a medley of dried fruits and nuts is a perfectly wonderful way to start your day. First and foremost you want it to be organic. Organic is becoming more common these days and it's not quite so out of budget anymore, although it's typically more expensive than its conventional counterpart, but worth it. Start by shopping at a health smart store. Avoid major markets. However, you still need to read labels!
Ingredients:
Start your day with a raw food breakfast consisting of raw dried organic oats, raw organic dried goji berries, raw dried organic almonds, organic raisins and agave. It's even better if you can verify that your items are sustainably grown, fair trade and NOT irradiated. You may soak any of these items overnight. Soaking almonds is especially beneficial. Soaking almonds takes away the bitter taste; they actually become sweeter and easier to digest. However, pre-soaking is not essential, so for a quick and easy breakfast everything can be thrown together the morning of, boil some water and pour over your medley of healthy ingredients, wait about 3 to 5 minutes and it's ready to eat. You may add any nuts or seeds including walnuts, pumpkin seeds, pine nuts, sunflower seeds... just make sure your ingredients are organic, low temperature dried, and never roasted.
You don't want to cook this meal over the stove top. It is important to avoid cooking foods that don't require cooking. Cooking food kills the life and healthy enzymes within the food making it harder for your body to digest. Our bodies are designed to eat Live food not Dead food. Life begets life. I've read that "disease began when humans began cooking their food." Start your day with a healthy raw food breakfast and start noticing how much better you feel.
