Ever heard of the saying "We are what we eat?" well the truth is in the pudding and the pudding doesn't lie. This generation of parents tend to throw healthy eating by the waste side due to busy schedules, tiredness, or just plain laziness. Either way our kids are the ones who end up suffering for it. There comes a time when you have to stop and think about what you are feeding your children because it can effect not only their physical health but their mental health as well.

Food effects every part of our body and chemical makeup. It plays a huge part in how we feel, how we act and how we react. If you believe that alcohol can make you intoxicated then there is no way it's hard to believe that the way you feed your children can't alter your child's mood and behavior. There are tons of reasons why children should eat fruit and vegetables at least once a day and it's not all based around physical health. Most of the time, when your child's pediatrician explains to you about the health benefit of fruits and vegetables, they are talking about your child's overall well being, which includes physical, mental and emotional.

For the parents who find it hard to cook a healthy meal for their kids every night and or make a decent, fulfilling breakfast due to time. Natural methods can become apart of the game plan with just a few steps.

Consider choosing quick, healthy foods and snack

Foods play a huge part in how our children function and feel. Choosing quick and healthy foods can improve their overall mood and behavior.

1. Oatmeal is one of the easiest ways to improve your child's behavior and mood. Oatmeal is great for cranky moods and or irritability. The soluble fiber that is in Oatmeal works to level your child's blood sugar by slowing down the absorption of sugar in their blood. Another thing you may want to know about oatmeal is that it sticks well to the stomach which helps to fight hunger throughout the day.

2. Peas and Bean can easily be added to your child's meal plan. Peas and beans have been known to have soluble fiber in them as well which helps improve moods and behavior problems.

3. Strawberries and Apples also include soluble fibers in them and help to improve mood swings in children. To make things a bit easy, you can put a few of these in your child's lunch box or book bag once a day as a snack. Or you can easily use these fruits as a topping on your child's oatmeal breakfast.

4. If your child like peanuts then you may want to try giving them Walnuts. Walnuts has been known to feed the brain. They have the important omega-3 fatty acids in them, which have always been known to cater to brain health. If your child just so happens to not like Walnuts, then you can try number 5.

5.Fish oil is a natural mood lifter that helps with brain health. You can find different types of omega-3 fish oils for children at your local health food store. Salmon, Omega-3 fortified eggs and flaxseed are other options you can use to regain a healthy mood for your child.

If for some reason you are looking for a natural, herbal stimulator. Then you may want to take a look at liquid options for your child.

One of the well known Natural remedies is Melancholy lift which is a native remedy that helps children who deal with sadness and mood swings. It's been known to improve depressed, quiet moods and it calms down outbursts. It all around can make your child a lot happier. This natural liquid was created by Dr. Hahnemann, who proved a small tree in South Asia had the right properties to support better moods.

It contains Ignatia amara,(6C) which is an ingredient that caters to the artistic type of child. It also contain Kali Phos(D6) which is considered to be a tissue salt. Kali phos (D6) caters to the child who gets easily upset about small things, gets tired easily and who are strong willed. Nat sulph (D6)is something else that is found in this natural remedy. Nat sulph is found in seawater and works for children who are sensitive in nature.

If you just so happen to be one of those parents who find it hard to control your child's mood, maybe it's time to rethink things over, re-evaluate how you feed your children and think about what you can do to naturally bring them back to a center of happiness.
