Many women take the wrong approach when it comes to maintaining a healthy body weight. To help understand what are common mistakes women make when trying to maintain a healthy weight and for healthy weight control tips, I have interviewed hypnotherapist Rebecca Young, Pa. C. P.

Tell me a little bit about yourself.

"I am a certified hypnotherapist, and a yoga dance instructor. I am working on getting my Master of Science degree at the Saint Joseph's University, with a concentration in Organizational Psychology and Development."

What are common mistakes women make when trying to maintain a healthy weight?

"One of the common mistakes that women make is that they eat small meals 3-5 times a day instead of eating 3 full meals. Our body stores more fat when it switches to surviving mode. Not taking normal meals at a regular time might send our body the false signal that we don't when and how big the next meal is."

What are some healthy weight control tips for women?

"Eating three meals a day with a healthy diet and exercising regularly helps to maintain a healthy weight. One simple thing we can do to maintain a healthy weight is by chewing our food. We should chew each bite 28-32 times. One of the reasons we overeat is that it takes time for our brain to realize that we are actually full. Chewing our food more times not only helps the digestion, but also helps the brain to register the "full" signal quicker in fewer bites."

What type of professional help is available for women that have a difficult time taking a healthy weight control approach?

"There are many professionals that are ready to help women who are trying to maintain a healthy weight. Hypnotherapy can be a quick and efficient way to change or modify a behavior pattern. Hiring a coach or a personal trainer can be helpful as well."
