Hearthstone Lodge Community Center

Retirement brought many changes in our lives, including a move to Cumming, Georgia. Shortly after settling in to our new neighborhood, we discovered Hearthstone Lodge Community Center, which is just a short walk from our front door to theirs. Hearthstone Lodge is a center for senior citizens, age 50 and up. After calling the center, an appointment was made to tour the facility. Chris Luttrell, Activities Director, gave us a tour of the fitness center, showing us how each piece of exercise equipment is used. The exercise room overlooks the heated indoor swimming pool, where water aerobics classes were underway.

Comparing prices with Hearthstone Lodge Community Center and other fitness centers we have used in the past, makes their $60 per year/per person a very good price. There is an additional charge of $60 per year/per person for use of the heated indoor pool. A Gold Membership is available, which includes use of the fitness center as well as the pool, with a 10% discount for classes. Aquatic exercise classes are offered by the center, as well as free swim time at designated times. For those with mobility issues, a ramp has been installed to allow ease in getting into and out of the pool.

Fitness Center
The fitness center is a fully equipped exercise room, made up of twelve Hoggan Sprint Stations. The stations are specifically designed for use by seniors, age 50 and over. There are no weights to adjust on this equipment, just a simple turn of the dial from 0 to 10 will give each senior just the right amount of resistance for their exercises.

All in all, Hearthstone Lodge Community Center is a wonderful place for seniors to make new friends, get out and explore the community and surrounding area, as well as become healthier and more fit. Whatever activities are of interest, they are available at this community center.
