Keep a mental note to shop around because the curler that I bought gets a little too warm. The curler I purchased is specially made with unique comb-like grooves used to separate the lashes. Right underneath the groves are the little heated bars that curl lashes. Though the heated bars are beneath the groves, the heat can still cause some irritation if it comes in contact with the lids. The curler touched my lids a couple of times. I could feel the heat, but it wasn't so bad that it burned painfully. The brand I purchases was titled "Essence of Beauty." It came in a clear case container completed with triple-A battery, a small cleaning brush, and a top to cover the device. The heated eyelash curler itself actually resembles a tube of mascara, so it's very easy to carry anywhere. According to the packaging, the curler should be given 15 seconds to heat up completely which was no time at all. It took me only a couple sweeps of the curler to see an automatic difference. I was very pleased to know that I wouldn't have to curl my lashes for more than a minute.
There are different kinds of curlers, from the devices with the comb attachments, to eyelash curlers that use heated rubber strips. The prices vary too. Take your time deciding and researching for the best eyelash curler.
I am very happy with the heated lash curler for the fact that it curls effectively, takes no time, and I can carry wherever. If you haven't already tried a heated eyelash curler already, do so; it will make a difference.
