Heath Ledger: Another Young Hollywood Face Gone

~Kristy~
First and foremost, I send my thoughts prayers and condolences to Heath Ledger's family, friends and those who were affected by his passing. It is sad and very tragic to lose another young life. His death marks another death in the Hollywood world, and he's quite possibly dead because of drugs. Regardless of whether they were prescription drugs or not, it is sad.

Initial reports are showing he had several prescription medications. There have been reports to which he was using anxiety medications, sleep medications, and anti depression medications. Reports are also circulating that he had pneumonia. Should this be true than there is also a good chance that he was also on pain medication and antibiotics as well. If he had the same doctor prescribe him all of these medications it makes you wonder if his doctor told him the dangers of mixing all of these medications. If not, what about the pharmacist who filled them? Did he/she think to let him know of the dangers of mixing these medications? I know I can't help but wonder about all of this because there have been numerous times where i have either picked up medicine for myself or my child and never had the pharmacist ask about other medications I was taking or even instruct me on how the medication should be taken. I have had to ask about what is acceptable to take with and how I am supposed to take it as well as all possible side effects certain prescriptions I have gotten. Was Heath so depressed over recent events of breaking up with his girlfriend that he got to a point he did not care anymore? Or was it simply he lost his life to having pneumonia? We will still have to wait 10-14 more days to find out.

All of this is disturbing to think about however right now the one thing I am finding far more disturbing id the Phelps family. They plan on picketing his funeral services saying he is dead and gone to hell because he played a gay cowboy in a recent movie Brokeback Mountain according to a FOX NEWS article. www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,324966,00.html I find this to be very disturbing because they are protesting this now that he is dead. If they are such Christians as they claim to be then why can't they let him rest in peace, pray for his soul and forgive him should they find it so wrong he portrayed a gay character in a movie. They seem to forget Heath was not gay he merely played the role of a gay person in the movie. Also if they are such Christians who are they to judge him or anyone for that matter. If I recall the bible correctly, and I am a Christian, it does say judge not lest you be judged and it also says let he who has no sins cast the first stone. They may want to be judged i don't know but there is not a single doubt in my mind that they have all sinned in one way or another through their lives so who are they to cast stones? Better yet who are they to cast stones upon a dead man? This is a case where i would love to see some counter protesters there simply to keep them from protesting his memorial service which is meant to put his soul to its final rest.

I must also say that this is becoming all too common to find young actors and actresses dead at such young ages. Just a week or so ago we lost Brad Renfro from a drug overdose. And who can forget the loss of former playboy playmate Anna Nicole Smith? That would be a hard one to forget with all of the media exposure that surrounded her and the paternity of her young daughter. I hope this is not a trend we will see continue in Hollywood. Actors and actresses winding up dead too young too often for things like booze and drugs. I can honestly say I am actually shocked that Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Brittney Spears and many other party animals in Hollywood are not dead yet. I see so many stories of all the party hard and drinking that goes on both on the television and Internet that I am shocked that someone is not dead from this yet.

While Heath is dead and it is very tragic I hope people can take something from this. At least if nothing more than NEVER mix your pills without asking a doctor first. Even if it seems OK because they are prescribed to you or because you bought them over the counter at a local drugstore. If you have any questions on what you can or can't take and you can't get a hold of your doctor call a pharmacist. Many cities have 24 hour pharmacies you can call and talk to with any questions you may have .

Again my thoughts, prayers and condolences to Heath's family, friends and those who were affected by his passing.
