"Heaven is so Real," Book Review

Part 2 of 3

Janice Meyer
It was a long spell, almost a year, before Choo Thomas heard from the Lord again. She had found herself trembling, shaking and the warmth of the Lord's presence. Then on January 19, 1996, she awoke at 3 a.m., her body shaking. This had never happened in her sleep before. There is something about the night-a time when the Lord tends to draw close to His people. This had been the case with her at that time. Often the anointing of God was so heavy on Choo, she felt she would faint. At other times she would feel dizzy and weak. Yet, at still many times, she would lay in her bed completely immobilized by the overpowering presence of God. Further, she said, "It is all too wonderful to fully describe, but I will endeavor to show you what it was like."

God's Word shows us that trembling and shaking are appropriate physical responses to the presence of the Lord. Other examples are found in Daniel 10:7; Psalm 99:1, 114:7;Habakkuk 3:16; and Matthew 28:4, as well as in Acts 4:31.

On January 20, 1996, Choo Thomas was awakened between 3 A.M. and 4 A.M. The Lord was present within a few minutes. He told her more about the work he had for her to do for Him. He told her she must write down all that he told her each time he visited her, and also that he would visit her many times before she would be ready to do His work.

The same thing happened the next morning. She asked Him what he wanted her to do, and the fact that she did not know anything about ministering. The Lord told her He would always be with her and promised her He would guide her. She wanted to know what should she tell her husband, and He said, "don't worry about him, I will bless him and minister to him also."

At one time in the book, Jesus called Choo Thomas 'Choo Nam,' and I figured that must have been her Korean Maiden Name. We should not be surprised by joy and laughter when it occurs during times of worship and adoration in the presence of the Lord. Choo tells how Jesus would laugh and swing her around like a child that began with a kind of dance.

Choo Thomas said several times that the Lord said He was preparing her for a special ministry. She said she wanted only to please Him. At one time He appeared at her window telling her he wanted to show her some things. Then she felt as if her body was being lifted from the bed. She said it seemed as though the insides of her body were detaching from the rest of her. This experience defied description. Soon after that, she was walking beside Jesus in her new body. She felt and looked exactly like she did as a teenager.

The Lord soon was at a point where He would show her what he had spoken of. They came to a long shiny tunnel. Coming out of the tunnel, they were in a large room made of beautiful stones that glistened. The Lord was seated on a throne, and He wore a golden crown and a radiant gown. There were other people with Choo, kneeling and prostrating themselves before Him. Then, it seemed just as quickly as she had gone up the mountain and into the white building she was back on the beach again. She knew she had been to a different world, but she wondered - Where it was? Why was this happening? What did it mean?
