Heavenly Dreams

Wordsworth Sonnet

Janice Meyer
I often dream of Heaven through the night,
there climb celestial stairs beyond the skies.
Alone, I search for You, Lord, my heart cries
to walk with You, follow Your glorious light,
to see the blessed angels in their flight.
If I could catch one glimpse of paradise,
Lord lead me, take my hand, 'twill be my prize,
alone, my sojourn may be cursed with fright.

Here in terrestrial space, the night is blue,
instead of black, that I may find a way
to climb to higher plane where I'll find You,
before the dawning of a bright new day.
Somehow I think the night has reached its due,
I must get back to earth, oh Lord I pray.

Absolutely beautiful. I especially love this line: "to see the blessed angels in their flight". :)
