Hector the Mouse and Harold the Cat

Steven West
Hector was a little mouse.
His tail was long and gray.
He loved to tease Harold the cat,
Every single day.

Hector once knocked over some milk
Which landed on Harold's back.
Hector laughed and ran away
Avoiding Harold's attack.

One day Hector got too close
To dear old Harold the cat.
Harold swiped at little Hector,
And threw him on the mat.

Hector knew his life was through.
He had met his final match.
Harold picked up weakened Hector,
And tossed him in the trash.

Hector escaped from the trash
Just before the trash man came.
Now Hector scampers around the streets at night
Which is a crying shame.

As for Harold, he's quite content
To live comfortably in his home.
His life is much more satisfying
Since he's been left alone.

That's a cute poem---full of humor. Can relate to this when I see a cat trying to catch a mouse.
