Heddy Instant Grey Touch Up: Product Review

A Safe Cover Up

Annette Robbins
Gray hair can be beautiful and I admire the man or woman who has that distinguished "salt and pepper" head of hair. I do believe gray hair is a badge of honor to be worn as our crowning glory. Depending upon my hairstyle and method of styling, my gray hair exhibits itself in two ways. When my hairdresser straightens my hair, the gray hairs randomly appear throughout the length of my hair strands. However, when I wear a curly style, the gray hairs stay curled and clumped around the edge of my hairline which I dislike. Initially, my hairdresser would clip the gray hairs until the next salon visit. As time progressed, the gray hairs became more numerous, but still grew only around the hairline. We used a temporary hair color only on the gray hairs that were at the hairline. The color would temporarily color the gray hairs and would wash out with each shampoo. Because I no longer color my hairline hair nor do I use a chemical hair relaxer, I searched for a product that would sufficiently cover the gray hairs at my hairline when wearing a curly hairstyle. To resolve the situation, I found Heddy Instant Grey Touch up to be an effective remedy. The cover up is easy to use and I use it to cover up some, but not all of my gray hair.

Heddy Instant Grey Touch Up comes in a 2.5 ounce bottle with a brush applicator. The directions state that the product can be used between colorings on your roots, mustache and even eyebrows if desired. After applying the cover up with the applicator brush, let it dry five minutes. When dry, brush the coloring throughout your hair in the area in which it was applied. The cover up should be completely dry for best styling results. Heddy Instant Grey Touch Up will easily shampoo out without difficulty. If necessary, you may apply a second application. I have found one application to be sufficient and I use it approximately twice weekly. For me the cover up is an acceptable alternative to hair coloring because it allows me to cover up as much or as little of my gray hair as I desire. The cover up effectively conceals the tightly curled gray hair around the areas of my temples, forehead and sides of my face.

Unlike more expensive hair coloring kits, Heddy Instant Grey Touch Up is reasonably priced under $5.00. I purchased the product by mail order through the Carol Wright Gifts catalog. The website is www.carolwrightgifts.com and you can order online. Heddy Instant Grey Touch Up is available in auburn, blonde, black, light and dark brown, The cover up is easy to use, has no obnoxious odor and effectively covered my gray hair. I like the product because you can apply it where you want the coverage which is not possible with hair coloring kits. I have found this product to effectively meet my hair styling needs. I would recommend Heddy Instant Grey Cover up as a hair coloring alternative if you desire a "spot cover up" for your gray hair. The look is natural and you decide how much of your gray hair to conceal- all or some!

    Almond,
You can purchase it at www.carolwrightgifts.com. Put "instant coverup" in the carol wright search box and you will see the page with various colors of coloring available. You can purchase liquid mascara in your color which is another option to use instead of the heddy's cover up.
