Heidi Fleiss Arrested

Heidi Fleiss is back in the spotlight again, this time allegedly for another vice.

Former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, 42, was arrested Thursday, February 7, for charges of illegal possession of prescription drugs and driving under the influence. She was pulled over at about 9:30 am in Pahrump by deputies responding to a report of a possible drunken driver, according to the Associated Press. Fleiss was arrested on four counts, including possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, driving under the influence of alcohol, and driving without a license.

A plumber, John Owen, 53, was a passenger in the car with Fleiss and was also arrested on charges of being under the influence of controlled substances and the possession of marijuana.

Fleiss told Reuters in a phone interview that she was stopped in a parking lot when she was approached by a police officer. She says she was taking Owen to a hardware store when the arrest occurred.

Fleiss admitted to carrying Vicodin, a narcotic pain reliever, but could not present evidence that the prescription was hers. She must now appear in court and show the prescription. She further told Reuters, "I'm squeaky clean this time."

Her bail was set at $1,376 and his at $1,264. Both Fleiss and Owen posted bail and were released.

Former Fleiss follies include a conviction in 1997 on tax evasion charges in connection with a prostitution ring she was accused of running that catered to Hollywood celebs. Reuters says she has plans to build a legal brothel in Nevada.

We all know Fleiss isn't the only famous person getting pulled over these days. People from all walks of celebdom are finding themselves victim of those flashing lights and handcuffs.

Oscar-winning screenwriter Roger Avary, best known for co-writing Pulp Fiction, was arrested on January 14th for charges stemming from an accident that took the life of a 34 year old man named Andreas Zedini, who was a passenger in his car. According to Reuters Canada, "Avary, 42, was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence...He was released from jail after posting $50,000 bail."

O.C. star Mischa Barton had a rendezvous of her own with the police back in December. She was pulled over for straddling two lanes of traffic. Barton was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license, possessing a controlled substance, and possessing marijuana, according to Fox News. She was in jail for seven hours before she was released on $10,000 bail. Her court hearing is scheduled for later this month, on February 28.
