Heights Urban Dog in Houston, TX is a dream for dog lovers and their canine pals - including the Houston Dogs Examiner and her dog, Euri. Teresa Bues, the owner of Heights Urban Dog, is a self starter who had a dream of one day owning a store for dogs, and seized the opportunity when it presented itself in 2009. "It was something I always wanted to do and I waited for the right location," said Bues. So when the building next to 20th Street Grooming became available, Teresa closed her travel agency and opened Heights Urban Dog.

The store has been open since the summer of 2009 and now attracts dog owners from all over the greater Houston area. Some of the best things about Heights Urban Dog - besides Teresa's knowledge and friendliness - are the natural grain-free food and treats that are a must-have for every dog. Some of Euri's favorites include brands like Sam's Yams (which are dehydrated yams that are a great alternative to rawhides), and Fruitables treats. They also carry the same great concept (food and treats) over to the Feline pals in your household.

And Houston's very own Barkin' Doggie Biscuits are also sold at Heights Urban Dog. Some of the great food brands include Precise, Innova and California Natural; and Stella and Chewy's raw food is coming soon. There is even a bakery section from Barker Street dog bakery in the Woodlands, TX - where the baked doggy treats are picked up personally. Teresa B also does rescue and fosters dogs so you might just find your next best friend at the store.

In addition to food and treats, Heights Urban Dog sells dog beds (including waterproof beds), dog bowls, leashes, and toys; and you can also find the latest copy of Houston pet magazines like Texas Cats & Dogs, and Pet Talk.

Heights Urban Dog is located at 638 West 20th Street, Houston, TX, 77008. You can't miss the cute yellow picket fence out front. Contact Heights Urban Dog by phoning (713) 864-4777, or send an email to HeightsUrbanDog@yahoo.com. The web site is www.HeightsUrbanDog.com.
