I had never heard of Huguette Clark until just a few days ago. Mystery surrounds Huguette Clark, the daughter and the heiress of William A. Clark who was born January 8, 1839 and died March 2, 1925. William Clark was an entrepreneur and made much of his money from copper mines in the west. Clark also had in hand in other ventures such as banking and railroads. William became known as one of the three "Copper Kings " of Montana and served as a United States Senator to this same state, but his one term was filled with scandal.
Married twice, William Clark had five children from his first marriage to Catherine Louise "Kate" Stauffer who died in 1893. All of the children, three boys and two girls are deceased. It was after Kate's death that William Clark became involved with his teenage ward, Anna Eugenia La Chapelle who died October 11, 1963. William was forty years Anna's senior and together they had two children, Louise Amelia Andree Clark who died of Meningitis on August 6, 1919 at the age of seventeen and Huguette Marcelle Clark (born in Paris, France June 9, 1906). Today Huguette is the subject of much controversy as authorities have discovered that this now 104 year old woman has been secluded in a New York hospital for the past 20 years. Unseen by staffers, friends and extended family Huguette has been thrust onto the front pages of newspapers and the internet.
There is much more to come on Huguette, the multi-millionaire heiress, her life and how she became a recluse and who is controlling her and her millions.
