Heisman Trophy Winner, Sam Bradford, Ends Playing for OU Sooners
Will the Heisman Trophy Winner Remain #1 in the NFL Draft?
The Heisman trophy winner answered questions about how he felt ending the current football season with OU. "To make this decision and realize that I've probably played my last game at Oklahoma," Bradford said, "it's really tough." He abruptly left the press conference after an emotional reaction.
The Heisman trophy winner was surrounded by his teammates during the press conference and they quickly stepped in when Bradford left the podium. It was Bradford's childhood dream to play for Oklahoma
Heisman Trophy Winner Supported by Head Coach
Head Coach Bob Stoops supports Bradford's decision. "I just know him personally, how hard this is for him to do this because I know deep down in his heart he wants to play," coach Bob Stoops said. "But really for his future, immediate and long range, we are all the way fully supportive and want what's best for him. And as hard as it is for him to do, this is the right path to take."
The Heisman trophy winner states he won't hire an agent until after football season because he plans to travel with his team and offer support for the remainder of the season.
The NFL Draft
Bradford plans to enter the NFL draft in April if surgery and rehabilitation go well with noted sports injury specialist, Dr. James Andrews, Birmingham, Alabama. He is considered a top surgeon for repairing damaged ligaments. Dr. Andrews consulted with Tom Brady and Albert Pujols for surgery.
Bradford's recovery is expected to take four to six months right before the January NFL draft prospects. At one time the Heisman trophy winner was considered the #1 NFL draft picks and this is the first Oklahoma NFL starting quarterback.
Bradford ends his OU career with 15 school records, including career marks for passing yards and touchdown passes.

Landry Jones takes over for Bradford. Jones set a school record when he threw six touchdown passes against Tulsa in September. According to Sooner Sports, he is 49-of-81 for 673 yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions.

Ran into a gentleman the other day that was upset with the coach for putting him back in a game before his shoulder was 100%.
He probably could have been in the NFL this season, too bad.
Feel bad for him. Sucks that doing what he loved may have cost him money in the long run, but hopefully everything turns well for him.
