Held Hostage: A Consumer's Lament
A Poetic-like Rant
Sitting in the eye doctor's waiting room
waiting for the clerk to hand over
what I already paid for
As if I have nothing better to do with my time
I want to yell at someone: "Just hand over the merchandise;
I'll call you if there's a problem."
As the minutes tick by
and the hour grows late
I grow restless
Feeling agitated for having my time wasted
feeling helpless because I can't leave -
they have what I need!
So I just have to wait
and be angry at being held hostage
at the eye doctor's office.
