Hell - a Poem

Hell Exists on Earth

Allana Calhoun
Hell has existed for centuries and the definition, although ever constant in connotation, has been adapted to fit the changing times and the varying perspectives. What is your Hell like?

* * * * * * *

Have you ever wondered if demons live in our midst?
Let me tell you, I have found Hell on Earth, it really does exist.

I encountered some monsters during my journey of life.
They made me fearful and caused me a lot of strife.
The monsters grew so numerous that I was surrounded.
Frightened and panicked, to one spot I was grounded.

Trapped ever so tightly, no escape was to be found.
The only option left was for me to dig down.
So dig I did and with each inch downward,
I felt a little better, felt like I was going forward.

I continued to dig and the hole grew deeper.
Onward, downward the walls grew steeper.
Finally I feel safe, far away from the monstrous creatures.
Though they peer down I can barely see their features.

Then suddenly I realize I'm now stuck in a hole.
All alone, demons appear and begin torture on my soul.
It seems now I am doomed to forever dwell
here in this hole, my own personal Hell.

Thank God for His Salvation in Jesus Christ. Hell is forever, there is no exit there.
Let's always walk with Jesus Christ and enjoy etenal life, next to our God.

Well, actually I can think of a few personal, first circle Hells (a la Dante): spending eternity in bumper to bumper traffic, spending eternity in in an endless academic administrative meeting and a died in the wool gourmet doomed to eating my cooking, forever!

What a great way of showing how we make our own hell. Kind of scary, too.

I can so identify with this. We seem to think a lot alike.

Nicely done. I can see how we make our own hell.

My Hell is not so horrible compared to others! Excellent portrayal of Hell from a personal perspective!
