Hello Gorgeous Salon Charity Fashion Show in Gilroy, CA

"Children are suffering from a hidden epidemic of child abuse and neglect. Over 3 million reports of child abuse are made every year in the United States," according to ChildHelp. These startling statistics are what drove Kristen Soseman of Hello Gorgeous Salon to work in tandem with Westside Grill in Gilroy, California to raise funds for ChildHelp by way of fashion.

For the last three years Soseman, along with an all volunteer staff, worked tirelessly to put together an annual fall fashion fundraiser with all proceeds going to the ChildHelp Organization. This year's event was bigger than ever before with a packed house of the fashion challenged, fashion lovers, and all-out fashionistas there to enjoy the show and support the cause.

As one of Silicon Valley's premiere salons, the Hello Gorgeous stylists had a chance to show off all their creative talents. The runway grooved with everything from orange and black diamond Mohawks to pink streaked bobs and braids, with models wearing individualized signature faux fur, sequins, leather, and Jimmy Choo style heels. The energy was electric and the music by local band After Party rocked the house.

As a special treat, Soseman had the pleasure of introducing one of her rising star stylists, Stephanie Jones who recently won Best Bridal Stylist of Santa Clara County in Bay Bella Best of the Bay Bridal contest. Jones then picked up the coveted first-runner-up title in the regional finals. Celebrity judge Billy Lowe had this to say about Jones-- "Outstanding and extraordinary work...Classic beauty to span the ages...I'm excited for your career". Her award-winning signature up-do was shown off on the fundraiser runway by model "Donya", an Oakland Raiderette Cheerleader, wearing a sleek brides dress to highlight the occasion.

The fashion show also included a first class buffet provided free by Westside Grill, event venue. A silent auction held after the fashion show gave all proceeds to ChildHelp. Many local Gilroy businesses donated prizes, talent and time to make the show the a huge success. All in all several thousands of dollars were raised by the hard work of many. Next year's fashion show plans are already in the works. and will likely be even bigger and better than ever.
