Hell's Kitchen Season 8 Episode Recap from October 6, 2010

It's Already Down to 11 Chefs!

Sabrina made it through another week on the last episode of Hell's Kitchen, but she also gained a lot of enemies! Can she survive another round in the kitchen? Although Boris was also disliked on his team, he managed to get the men to realize that winning is more important than hating on him.

Prom in Hell's Kitchen: Chef Ramsay likes to make things different so this season he invited Beverly Hills High School to the kitchen to host their prom. The prom committee actually got to have their say about the menu. The committee through out some surprises when they said things like seared tuna and "fusion" food which the chefs didn't expect these kids to even know about. The teams had to take this feedback to create their own menu for Chef Ramsay to try. Boris tried to give some input during the challenge but all the men talked over him and ignored him. The women actually seemed to work together and agree with their dish ideas pretty easily.

The prom committee came to judge the three dishes. The women's crab dish got good reviews for presentation and taste while the men's crusted tuna was called "burnt" and had no flavor. For entrees, the women brought a ribeye with raw tuna? Sounds yucky and the committee seemed to agree. The men's dry halibut wasn't enough to win them a point though. The committee didn't even have to try the third dish, but they still got to taste it. The women's pasta dish proved to be another winner so the girls won hands down.

The winning women went to an amusement park and seemed to be getting along pretty well. As the losers, the men had to decorate the kitchen for prom as the committee told them what to do. Russell started to lose his temper with the committee who kept correcting every little thing he did. This definitely wasn't a good idea - especially with Maitre D' James overseeing the whole thing. Trev stepped up the kissing up to make up for Russell's poor behavior.

Dinner Service: Sabrina went back to her old ways, being slow during prep because she hates it so much. Vinny and Nona were pulled up to help plate dishes tonight, which sounds like a good position since they didn't have to cook. Both teams were moving a bit TOO fast tonight as Boris was cooking crab cakes before they were needed and Melissa put all the beef in the oven before they even got done with appetizers. She easily wasted 20+ pieces of meat by cooking them WAY too early, what was she thinking? Chef Ramsay said he couldn't deal with her anymore but he didn't kick her out.

While Boris did slow down on his crab cakes, he was serving them cold and getting them rejected by Ramsay. Sabrina was actually a help in the kitchen tonight as her dishes got praised by Ramsay and she was working on teamwork. It would come down to entrees. Boris was holding up the men with the Halibut but luckily it made it past Ramsay no trouble. The women started to crash and burn with Emily serving raw halibut. Russell took charge of the men's team and lead them to a much better service than last week.

Nona opened her mouth at the wrong time, interrupting Chef Ramsay while he was yelling at Melissa, and even though she wasn't cooking anything she got to experience his sarcastic comments. Sabrina was surprisingly being a leader for the women helping them to serve all of their entrees. The men also finished service tonight, but someone's gotta lose! Ramsay gave the women credit for better appetizers but thought they "deflated" after that. The men won dinner service and Russell was named the best. Sabrina was named the best of the worst, much to the women's dismay. Even though they hate her, Sabrina did pull it out tonight and did very well. She deserved to be named the best and was very happy to pick the two nominees.

Sabrina's Nominations: Emily and Melissa were her nominees tonight, which makes sense based on dinner service tonight. However Jillian and the men tried to sell her on putting up Gail because she was a bigger threat. I don't see anything bad she could really say about Gail though as compared to the others. She decided to nominate Melissa and Emily, she must not have the guts to put up Gail. Both women did some bad things tonight, but Melissa on the meat station was probably the worst. Chef Ramsay said "I can't teach common sense" to Melissa, but with Emily he couldn't see the passion in her so he sent her home giving Melissa another opportunity to improve.
