2. Brake. The accelerator is driving the car so you'll probably need to press a lot harder than usual.
3. In a manual aka stick drive car, press the clutch in fully and take the car out of gear and put it
into neutral. Likewise if driving an automatic car, move the stick into neutral.
4. With the car's speed now hopefully slowing, flick on the hazard lights.
5. Now steer a safe route to the side of the road ahead. You may need to let up on the brake in order to keep
some momentum as the car is now in neutral.
6. The accelerator is probably still stuck open and because the gear is in neutral the engine will be racing hence
really noisy. Do not turn off the ignition until you are stopped safely. Turning off the ignition while still moving
will most likely cause the steering to lock and possibly loss of brakes.
