Help with Decorating Wedding Shoes

In the past years, most women who are planning their weddings are more concerned with the dress they have to wear for that big day. These days however, with the rising popularity of modern and unconventional weddings, everything that the bride is going to wear has to be perfect. With most dresses now not having trains of cloth, shoes are visible to everyone in the wedding. So how do you make your wedding shoes look great? Here are a couple of ideas you can use to help make those shoes be a hit on your big day!

Choose a pair of shoes that go well with your dress. If you're having a hard time finding a color that will directly match the color of your wedding dress, then go for a pair that has a neutral color. Make sure that the shoes you choose are comfortable and fit just right. Remember, you will be in the shoes for a long time and you sure don't want to stand in shoes that hurt your feet because you will only be miserable instead of happy.

With your purchased plain wedding shoes, you can now give it your own personal touch of romance by placing lace, pearls, or any delicate beads at the opening of the shoes or the straps, if you bought sandals. Using glue, attach the material of your choice. A little bit of pearls, lace or beads can really make your shoes look nice and expensive.

If you bought a solid-colored pair of shoes, you can add texture as well as color to these by painting them. Use a subtle design though. Using a stencil, use metallic paint or the pearlized kind of paint, then remove the stencil and give your shoes time to dry. You can even add some more glam to the pair by using glitter or mica metallic powder over the paint prior to drying it.

For a spring wedding, add a touch of silk or flowers (cardstock) at the back part of the shoes or on one side at the front. You can even go for materials that will perfectly match your wedding bouquet by using the same kind of flowers you will have in it.

If you don't want to go through too much trouble, but still want to have fantastically decorated shoes, you can do so using clip-on shoe accessories. These usually come with straps that you can easily attach to straps of sandals or at the front or the back of shoes. There are many different styles to choose from and these include rhinestones, flowers, hearts, faux gemstones, pearls, and crystals.

When decorating your shoes, don't overdo it. You want the guest to talk about how beautiful you were on your special day, not how over done your shoes were!
