Help Feed the Children - You Can Make a Difference

Lindsey
Most of you have probably heard of the "Feed the Children" foundation. It's frequently displayed on your television and you pass it up everyday thinking nothing more of it. "Oh, that's sad," you think. Then you change to a different channel and move on. I used to be one of those people, but you know what I'm doing today? I am placing a check in the mail right after I finish this article.

It's only ten dollars, but it's going to feed five hundred children! I'm not going to think about it for a while, which is what a lot of us do. I'm just going to do it. Too many times I have said to myself I need to give next week, month, or next year, but then I get caught up in my own life and forget just like everyone else. I'm not just talking anymore. I'm taking action. A lot of people believe we were put on this earth for our test of character before we walk through those gates.

What are you going to say to God when he asks you why didn't you help when it was so little to give. You sure can afford to buy your cigarettes, that case of beer for the a weekend, your soda, or other needless things that are not required to keep you living. So why can't you give a little something to someone who has nothing?

The government of Taiwan has just recently donated millions of pounds of rice to Kenya to feed the poor. That is great, but there is one problem. The cost of getting the rice shipped over seas to Kenya and then distributing the rice throughout Kenya, cost money. Money that isn't available. We can help.

A one time gift of ten dollars will feed five hundred children, twenty dollars will feed one thousand children, fifty will feed twenty five hundred, and so on. The rice is of no use to these children if we can't get it to them. It's sad to think there is food available, but not in their hands. I decided to write this article because I thought if I could get it out to the public and have them read this, maybe the thought would stick with them more.

Television is such an everyday thing and when we see programs about feeding children we pass them by without a second thought because we've seen it thousands of times just like the same commercials they put on television everyday. But there is a difference between the two. Commercials will get old and come and go. Hungry children will never get old because it is a constant real problem that will never end. Maybe we need to pay more attention and stop and think more.

We take so many things for granted everyday and are so very selfish. You can't go back and change all those times you went about your selfish ways, but you can change what you do in the future and make a difference. Please donate as much as you can and don't make excuses because there is none. The only thing standing in the way of you giving is YOU!
Please mail your gift to P.O. BOX 28, Oklahoma City, OK 73101 and make it payable to Feed The Children. They except checks. You can also go on line at www.feedthechildren.com and pay by credit card.

Join me today and place that payment in the mail. You will feel so much better about yourself. I promise. I already do just knowing I'm putting my check in the mail right now.
