The Family Dentistry of Yusuke C. Susuki is accepting canned and nonperishable food donations that will directly help hungry people in our community this holiday season. You can take your donations to their office at 801 S. Ham Lane, Suite L, in Lodi thru November 20. This Family Dentistry has been advertising in our local newspaper for a while. They are reaching out and from all the ads that I have seen so far I am sure they are getting a good response. Lodi is a generous community.
New Hope Church In nearby Galt is taking part in a community wide effort to help give baskets to over 100 families this Thanksgiving. Their portion is to help provide canned cranberry sauce for the baskets. New Hope Church is asking their members to help with this great cause. New Hope Church is located on New Hope Road in Galt. The Church office hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Thursday.
The Unity project, a faith-based organization that seeks to end homelessness and encourage volunteering has opened a Thrift shop in downtown Lodi. Uptown Thrift on Sacramento street. The Unity Project has also been feeding the homeless in Lawrence Park for the past 3 years. They will be hosting a Thanksgiving dinner on November 23. It will take place inside Uptown Thrift's worship room, which is toward the back of the store. Contact Uptown Thrift at 209-390-8799 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday if you'd like to help with this project.
Just in time for Thanksgiving the Delta Blood Bank would like to qualify you for a week's worth of groceries from: Save Mart Supermarkets. Just go in this week and donate your precious blood at 125 S. Hutchins Street, Lodi. I am planning on donating blood today since they are only at the Hutchins Street location on Wednesday's.
Help Scouts feed the hungry in their upcoming food Drive. November 21 the Boy Scouts from the 49er District, Greater Yosemite council will be knocking on doors in Lodi asking for contributions of a few cans of non-perishable items for the annual Salvation Army-Boy Scout Food Drive.
