Retailers in the Birmingham Principal Shopping District are trying to stay optimistic about this holiday shopping season. With record numbers of locations in the district closed for business, the restaurant and shop owners need to be commended for remaining optimistic.

There are many events planned to bring people into the area, but that might not be enough for some of the retailers. They realize that this is another make-or-break holiday season, and they are ready for it. Many locations have already made plans to hire extra workers during the biggest shopping time of the year.

Make sure to remember the shops in your community. Many of you have friends, children or other family who are employed there. Make sure that you ensure their jobs for as long as possible.
