HELP! My Mom Wants Me to Clean My Room!

I hated cleaning my room as a child yet after all the excuses I made to get out of it I never thought of this!

I read a few days ago that a little girl called the cops after her mom told her to clean her room!

Picture this: You are a 9yr old German girl. You have been told over and over again to clean your room. After looking around at the huge mess you get an idea! Now let's stop right here and think a bit. This little girl could have:

1. Made up a game to make cleaning her room fun.
2. Turned on some music and grabbed a book to read. She'd clean up later.
3. Asked her little brother to help her clean up the mess.

This little girl took number 3 but not as you are guessing. She first made a sign. She wrote "Help! Please call the police!" Then this sweet little girl posed in front of her window crying. Her 2yr old brother was next to her as she begged the people of Braunschweig to help her.

What you would do if you saw a little girl with little boy begging you to call the police? We'd call the police thinking someone was hurting this little girl and boy. Of course people called the police reporting what they saw.

Next let's think about the mom of this household. She is maybe taking her time to tidy the living room or in the kitchen cooking supper for her family. She sighs as someone rings the door bell. Wiping her hands on a dish rag she goes to the front door and what do you think she sees? Police! Let's just hope they rang the door bell and didn't bust the door open like an episode of Cops!

This is how I picture her greeting them at the door:

"Step aside, lady. We need to come in for a look around." The cop may have said.
"Ok sir, but what is the problem?"
"We have complaints that there are two children in your household calling for help."
"What? I am sorry you must be mistaken. My daughter is cleaning up her room and my son is taking his afternoon nap."
"We still need to look around."

So this poor mother let in the police and maybe leads them around her home. Of course they find the two children standing in front of a window with the sign the girl made.

Reports say the little girl had had a fight with her mother after being told to clean her room. The officers' told her she had to clean her room and when they returned two hours later her room was clean plus she had made up with her mom.
