On Tuesdays, volunteers from the organization, pick up fresh bread from the Aldi store on Broadway Street, and deliver it to their food pantry. I was surprised at how many loaves of bread we got from Aldis, which on Tuesday nights, gets distributed to those who need it, in the community. I enjoyed helping, but since I work on Tuesday, I won't be able to volunteer for the bread pick up, but I am looking into other volunteer openings that are available on other days and for special events.
If you want more information on how you can help the Tuesday bread pick-ups and deliveries, call the volunteer coordinator at 773-769-0282, or visit the Ravenswood Community Services website.
