Help and Remedies for Morning Sickness During Pregnancy

Why in the world do you spend most of the beginnings of your pregnancy hovered over the toilet? Your body is most likely reacting to the hormones of pregnancy. Too little Vitamin B6 or too little glycogen, the natural sugar stored in your liver, can cause nausea. Emotions are another possible cause of nausea during pregnancy.

One thing you might consider trying is keeping a small bowl full of little hard candies on your bedside table. Simply suck on a hard candy before you even get out of bed every morning. The little burst of sugar might be the answer to most of your morning sickness woes. You can also try snacking on crackers or toast before you roll out of bed as well.

When getting out of bed, go slowly! Many times women get a sudden rush of nausea because they are just jumping out of bed like they always have. Rise into a sitting position in your bed and wait a few minutes. Then, put your feet over the edge of the bed and wait a few more minutes. When you feel stable, continue out of the bed.

Nausea is especially bothersome on an empty stomach, so you might try high-protein snacks such as lean meat or cheese before heading to bed for the night. Protein takes longer to digest, so it will stay with you longer than just going to bed without anything.

Eat small but frequent meals. This will keep your stomach from being empty (major reason for nausea). Eat slowly and chew your food well. Relax and try to enjoy your food. Avoid fried, spicy, or rich foods or any food that seems to give you indigestion.

Drink fruit juice after breakfast instead of at the beginning. Lots of ladies ay that they fair better with meals where they did not drink any beverage with it. Try slowly sipping a tea made from ginger root or peppermint when you are feeling nauseated. A mild chamomile tea is another drink that may help soothe an angry stomach.

Avoid strong smells and perfumes if they set your stomach off. Try inhaling boiling water containing essential oil of ginger. All you have to do is add one drop of the oil of ginger to two cups of boiling water and breathe the mixture for about five minutes.

Another method many women swear by is accupressure. Accupressure may be helpful in dealing with symptoms of nausea. Try apply firm, deep pressure to the inner forearm about two inches above the wrist crease. If you begin to feel nauseated, apply deep pressure and massage for about two minutes on the inside crease of one forearm and then the other.

If you are plagued by morning sickness, there is hope! Most morning sickness fades away as the months progress. The finished product, your baby, will be well worth it!
