Helpful Tips on Decorating Your Christmas Tree with Lights, Tinsel, Ornaments and More
Seperate Your Tree from the Rest
The Tree Placement: This is very important if you wish to see all of your nicely decorated Christmas tree, instead of just half of it. Never leave the tree leant up against the wall, pull it out a little so you have walk around space in front and behind it. There is nothing worst than seeing a half lit tree, when its obvious lights and decorations surround the whole tree!
Keep Your Tree Fresh: The tip to keeping your tree fresh during the holiday season is water! A tree is a plant and plants put on their best performance when they are well taken care of. Once purchasing your fresh tree, immediately put it into a container or bucket of water once you get home. They make special containers just to put your tree in after it's been freshly cut. All you have to do is remember to change the water at least twice a day.
Tree Decorations: For your tree decorations, use lights, tinsel and feather weight ornaments to bring the Christmas feeling into your home. When selecting lights, stick to light that have a small bulb as oppose to a big one, your electricity bill will be lower if you do it this way. When it comes to picking out the right tinsel, stick to the Christmas colors such as gold, silver, red and green. For ornaments, don't get ornaments that will weigh down the tree branches too much, this will cause there to be a dangerous mess on the floor if one of the branches breaks and breaks your glass ornament, be prepared!
Decoration Placement: When placing you decorations on the tree, stick to the same pattern, if you are using lights, place them both in the inside branches as well as the outside. By placing them in the inside braches you will see the difference, you will be able to stand on any side of the tree to see the brightly lit effect. After you place on the lights, next is the tinsel, place the tinsel around and on the tree as you will, however; don't put too much or it will seem like your tree is smothering. Last but not least is the ornaments, place the ornaments on last and use the same rule as the light, stick ornaments on the inside branches as well as the outside.
Tree Skirts: To give your tree the real feel of Christmas, try adding a tree skirt. These can be purchased at almost any store around the Christmas holidays. Not only will the tree skirt make the tree look more festive, it will also hide the tree stand and catch all tree shedding that may fall from the tree.
