First decide which pieces of luggage you are taking - Deciding first which piece or pieces of luggage you will be taking on your Disneyland vacation is a good idea. This will help you in your overall packing because you will know ahead of time how much room you have for your clothes. If you are driving to Disneyland, you may find that using a duffle bag for each member of the family makes packing the car easiest. Duffle bags store uniformly into a trunk or storage area in the back of a minivan. If you are flying to Disneyland, be sure to find out what carry on limits are and if there are any fees associated with extra pieces of luggage. Knowing this information will help you decide which pieces of luggage are best to bring along on your trip.
Keep things as simple as possible - Over packing for your Disneyland vacation can really become a hindrance on your trip. Bringing too much will only slow you down. If you want to make things easier on yourself, make a conscious effort to bring only what you know you will need. Leaving non-essential items at home will not only make packing for your Disneyland trip easier, but it will also simplify the process you go through each morning at the hotel as you get dressed for the parks. Too many choices as to what to wear will usually slow you down.
Try your best to determine what the weather will be like at Disneyland during your visit. Check the weather forecast online ahead of time (you can even check daily averages for every day of the year on The Weather Channel's website), and pack accordingly. Whether you are driving or flying to Disneyland, packing as simply as possible will simplify your overall travel process. Fortunately, the weather at Disneyland is pretty consistent. Shorts and T-shirts can be worn much of the year.
Packing for Disneyland is different than packing for Disney World - It is often noted on various discussion boards that visitors to Disney World in Florida need two outfits per day simply because of the humidity. One outfit gets soaked from perspiration or a thunderstorm (or both), and many Disney World patrons like to head back to the hotel for a splash in the pool or shower, before putting on a second dry outfit and heading back into the parks for the evening. This practice is essentially never necessary at the Disneyland Resort in California. Despite the fact that temperatures can reach into the high 80's and 90's throughout much of the summer and early Fall, humidity is rarely an issue. So unless you want to dress casually for your day at Disneyland and then dress up a bit for a nice dinner, one outfit per day is enough to pack for your Disneyland vacation.
Packing for your trip is part of the fun of a Disneyland vacation! Think it through and keep it simple!
