One of the most important things you can do to prevent treed cat is to give your cat some space and time. Cats can become intimidated if there are too many people standing around staring up at them waiting or cheering them to come down. Many times cats will come down by themselves they just need some time and patience. Since most cats are loners they don't care too much for a crowd so give them space and let them come down the tree by themselves without a crowd standing around them.
Just like your cat needs some patience in coming down from the tree, you should also be patient. Although they may be hesitant in coming down, cats are perfectly capable in getting down from trees unless they are injured or stuck somehow. If you notice they are stuck or injured, call the animal rescue or climb the tree yourself to help get your pet down from the tree. If you climb the tree to help get your pet down, be sure you wear gloves. When animals, including cats, are scared they may be more likely to attack. When grabbing your cat out of the tree, grab the skin on the back of their neck and make sure you don't miss, which can cause the cat to go further up the tree. If you are still having difficulty getting your treed cat down, go ahead and call animal rescue.
Try giving your pet a full day to get down from the tree but get them down before night fall, cats that are stuck in trees can be attacked at night by raccoons. Food is always a good way to prevent treed cat. Dangle some of your cat's favorite food in front of them and close enough to them so they can smell it. If hungry enough, your cat will come down sooner than later. If your cat is often a treed cat, you may want to put up some boards and nail them to the tree to help your cat get down. You can also prevent treed cat by keeping the tree or trees off limits. Put up wires or other type of barricades around the tree to prevent your cat from jumping up in the tree.
You can also prevent treed cat by teaching him new tricks that will help him come down easier and quicker. Put a ladder against the tree and put your cat in the tree, allow them to climb down the ladder, then put them higher in the tree and continue the process until your pet is comfortable with using the ladder to climb down.
