All children are different!
All children are curious about the world and enjoy learning but teaching methods may not suit them. Most students enjoy learning but not continuously. Others interested in technology, computer fans or those who like to watch documentaries on television are bored at school. All these have to be constantly put into difficulty and because of their poor academic performance; they feel devalued even within their family. The role of parents is to reassure them and to help them overcome these academic failures.
Time management
Due to lack of organization, students feel that school is everlasting because of the fact that when they finish an assignment they will have another one just after. When they aspire for some play they are not able to focus on what they are doing and so they spend three times longer than necessary. Teach them how to manage time in order to be able to organize themselves and their time to play. Even if they are wrong, at first, they will discover with pleasure that their evenings and weekends are devoted entirely to school tasks.
Finding the right method
You cannot get good grades if you do not understand lessons! However, most children do not know how to study. Help your child discover how much he can remember when reading something, hearing or writing. The child will be able to choose the method that is most suited for him and will trust his intellect. Some children claim that what they study is difficult and they often seek the assistance of a parent, as if he was going to learn instead of them! He does this in order to feel small but in the same way that he has learned to dress, wash and eat alone he should learn to become self dependent in school matters!
Restoring confidence
Very often improving relationship of a child with parents and teachers may even help to transform an impossible situation. Do not hesitate to meet your child's teachers! If your child lacks confidence in himself in class it is up to you to encourage him as most often your attitude will help him confirm that he is good for nothing. Do not make too high expectations!
