Helwa Organic Vanilla Wafers

If you are someone who loves wafer cr¨me cookies I highly recommend for you to not buy Helwa Organic Vanilla wafers, unless you have some form of will power.

I have tried Helwa Organic Vanilla Wafers a few times in the past and I recently thought I should write a review on them. I figured since it has also been awhile since I have eaten some I really should buy some again to be able to write the best review. Having to eat them again is all for the good of the people. So they will know what sweet treat is worth turning to in their time of need. At least I tried to convince myself that that was the reason to go through the shear torture of having to eat sweet, crispy, creamy cookies again. It is all for the people.

I love wafer cr¨me cookies. They are probably one of my most favorite types of cookies for which I have no will power for. They taste delicious and can be fun picking apart all the layers and licking off the cream.

Helwa Organic Vanilla Wafers are crispy and creamy. The wafers are thin and crispy. They lend a nice crisp with every bite. The vanilla cream layers are light and creamy and the layers are not too thick or too thin. I have in the past had wafer cr¨me cookies which had the cr¨me layers too thick that they over powered the whole cookie. These, though, have a nice balance of crisp and creme complimenting each other.

The vanilla flavor is nice and not over powering. These wafer are pretty sweet but still not overly sweet. The amount of sugar on the other hand is best not looked at. These are a dessert after all can't really be expected to be sugar-free. Also, ingredient wise they are not a health food but they are organic and that really sets them apart and I am all for anyone who supports organic farming.

If you insist on punishing yourself and want to know the nutrition facts they have 170 calories and 8 grams of fat per 5 wafers. There are also 13 grams of sugar per serving. Although have you ever looked at yogurt? It usually has over 20 grams. And these taste so much better and they are vegan.

Helwa is a company based in Holland. These wafers are not as widely available in the U.S. as I think they should be but you can usually find them at Trader Joe's and occasionally a good drug or grocery store and of course several shops online.

The package I purchased was 3.5 ounces and it cost $2.12. It has 3 servings in the package or just 1 or 2 if you are someone who cannot resist yumminess. I am not confirming or denying whether or not I fit into that category.

Helwa Organic Vanilla Wafers are incredibly good and they will satisfy any lover of good sweet treats. If you buy a package I highly suggest you do so with a friend or family member to keep you from eating the whole package of wafers yourself.
