Boyne Falls, MI 49713
United States of America
This is truly a great spot for family adventure. Boyne Mountain is also home to Avalanche Bay, Michigan's largest indoor water park.
There are so many places to stay at this resort. I have written reviews on each and they can be found under Boyne Mountain Grand, Boyne Mountain Lodge, Disciples Village, Ramshead, Hemlock, Creekside, and The Cabins.
Hemlock & Ramshead @ Boyne Mountain, Boyne Falls, Mi
Boyne star rating 2-3
These units are located at the base of Boyne Mountain. The buildings are 2 stories and ski in-out and slope side units are available. These are very nice units and are all decorated nice. The units are 1-4 bedroom units and sleep up to 12 people. All of the units are non-smoking. All of the units have living room areas with a fireplace. There is a full kitchen with dining area in each unit.
Kitchen amenities include coffee maker, toaster, microwave, refrigerator, range, dishwasher, dishes, and cooking utensils. They also have full bathrooms w/bathtubs.
There is an outdoor heated pool, and each unit has either a deck or a patio.
This property is located in Boyne Mountain Village and is only a few minutes walk from the slopes, restaurants, and Avalanche Bay Waterpark. It is just a short drive (on property) to the Golf Courses.
These are very nice units. Very clean, and furnishings all seem to be in excellent repair. The service is very good, responding quickly to our requests. This is an absolutely beautiful area.
Food:
Erikson's is located in the Clock Tower Lodge,
Very reasonably priced. They have a great breakfast bar. Erikson's comes complete with a slope side view and has the best steak in town!
Everette's, located in the Mountain Grand Lodge,
And has the best all you can eat King Crab every Friday night...oh, my. It is way to good. This is an upscale restaurant, medium prices. In my opinion, it is too expensive to feed family 3 meals a day.
Pierson's, located in the Village
Excellent sports bar... great food...very overpriced. $9.00 milkshake??? Never again!
I also noticed that they have Daycare service and a kids club. I did not utilize the daycare, but asked parents that did and heard nothing but positive remarks. I did, however, have my grandsons in the kids club, Fritz's Adventure Camp. They have a different activity each week. Below is the schedule for summer of 2007, so that you get an idea. The boys positively enjoyed themselves and still talk about what they did there. I would definitely recommend this. It is very reasonably priced, they watch your children very good, and gives you some time for adult adventure, time in the spa, or time to sneak off to the new Odawa Casino in nearby Petoskey. I believe at the time this is for summer only. If enough people request, perhaps they will do the same in the winter.

There is so much to do in this area. There are endless biking trails, boating or fishing on the inland lakes or Lake Michigan. At Boyne Mountain, Snowshoeing and Cross-country skiing is available. Snowmobiling is another favorite winter pastime of the locals. Bring your own machine or you can rent one locally.
There are also many area beaches and nature trails. You can visit the new Odawa Casino and the many local shopping districts.
Dining, drinking, and dancing are available on property at Boyne Mountain's Snowflake Lounge, with live music, a dance floor, and a fun atmosphere. You can enjoy a martini at Eriksson's and sing along with the piano, or relax at the Pub called Pierson's. What a fun place this is. It is a combination Pub/Sports Bar. Located right at the bottom of the slope. The atmosphere here is always fun! You can also join the locals in the nearby towns of Boyne City, Petoskey, Charlevoix and East Jordan for shopping, dinner, and walk from bar to bar enjoying, reggae, folk music, and more. Just play all night long!
When we were there, Boyne offered drop off pickup service to these nearby towns, so you can have fun and not worry about driving!

My husband and I have traveled extensively, both with and without children. Please feel free to suggest a review. If I have been there, I will tell you what I think! I also prepare trip itineraries.
